Instructions for a Naboo Fighter LEGO Set

The Naboo N-1 Starfighter, as seen in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace," is a bright yellow and fairly zippy spaceship. It is piloted in the films by Anakin Skywalker and his faithful droid friend, R2-D2, and in the LEGO "Star Wars" universe, you can build one of these craft to fight alongside your favorite LEGO creations and recreate some of the classic battles from "Episode I."

Instructions

    • 1

Place two the two gray double-curved 6-by-7-stud plates on either side of a 4-by-6-stud plate. Join the three pieces with a 2-by-8-stud brick on the left side of the hull. Point the brick away from you and designate the left side of the craft as the front, and the right side as the rear of the vehicle.

    • 2

Place a tan 2-by-2-stud brick so the back lines up with the 2-by-6 brick. Place a 2-by-3-stud plate in front of that.

    • 3

Put a black 2-by-6-stud brick in front of the 2-by-3 plate. Place a 2-by-1 vent on top of the plate behind it, and a dark gray 2-by-1 plate behind that. Also attach a 2-by-1 angled handle plate. Attach a 2-by-3 brick to the back center of the hull.

    • 4

Place the hull bricks, two C-shaped pieces which follow the curves of the hull, around the front and back of the vehicle. Stick a second 2-by-8 brick on the right side of the vehicle.

    • 5

Place a 2-by-6-stud plate on the back of the vehicle, pointing away from the handle brick. Attach a yellow A-frame plate to the back, so the center of the plate touches the 2-by-6.

    • 6

Place tan 1-by-8-stud plates on either side of the cockpit, so it touches the inside of the A-frame plate. Attach a third 1-by-8 across the front of the other two pieces. Widen the sides of the base using two 2-by-6-stud plates.

    • 7

Attach a yellow, flat 2-by-2-stud plate to the back corner of a 6-by-12-stud wing. Place a 2-by-6-stud plate on the flat edge of the wing next to the 2-by-2. Repeat mirrored to make a second wing unit. Attach these to the front of the vehicle, so that 6-stud edges of the vehicle meet in the middle, and the yellow sections of the wing point backwards. Place a 2-by-2 semi-circle plate on the front of the model.

    • 8

Attach a 2-by-1 brick with two Technic holes on the sides to the edge of a 2-by-2-stud plate. Attach a 2-by-3-stud upward-angled brick on this plate. Insert two Technic pins into the respective holes. Make two units. Flip the model over and attach them to the corners of the wings. The pins should face away from each other.

    • 9

Attach a 2-by-4-stud angled brick to the center of the model's nose. Place a 2-by-4-stud brick in behind that. Place the cockpit computer, a 2-by-2 angled brick with a computer decal, in front of the cockpit seat. Place a yellow 2-by-3-stud angled brick on either side of this, so it matches the yellow stripe on the wings.

    • 10

Attach two tan 2-by-2 L bricks behind the angled handle, pointing toward the back. Attach a black 2-by-6-stud brick in the elbows of the piece. Place a 2-by-1 vent plate on top of a 2-by-1 plate. Make two of these on either side of the black brick. Put a yellow 2-by-1 brick with a Technic hole in the side on the very back of the model.

    • 11

Place four yellow 2-by-3 wing bricks on the back of the model, creating two angles on the sides of the model. Attach two yellow 2-by-4 side-angled bricks on the side of the model around the vent plates. Insert a gray Technic pin with a rod end into the back of the model.

    • 12

Place four 1-by-1 round bricks at each corner of the cockpit seat. Place a 2-by-1 plate with a wall on top of a 2-by-1 plate. Make two of these units and attach them to the sides of the cockpit to create two armrests. Attach two 4-by-3-stud angled bricks on the sides of the cockpit, with the backs toward the cockpit.

    • 13

Attach two 2-by-2-stud angled bricks, yellow, in front of the yellow stripe on the wings. Place a green 1-by-1 cone on the front of a 1-by-1 brick with a side-knob. Make two of these units and attach them in the elbow created by these bricks. These are the front guns.

    • 14

Cover the front of the model with a 2-by-6-stud yellow plate, and a 1-by-6-stud plate on either side, covering the gun bricks. Place the 1-by-4-stud flat plates with the Nabooan writing on the sides of the cockpit.

    • 15

Build up the back walls of the model using a 2-by-4 angled brick, and two yellow 2-by-3 wing bricks. Attach two yellow 2-by-1 wall plates on either side of the vent holes. Attach 2-by-2 angled bricks in front of those with a 2-by-2-stud tan brick between them.

    • 16

Place a 2-by-4-stud angled brick on the back of the model. Stack the two 2-by-2 angled bricks with decals on them on top of a 2-by-4-stud plate, with the angles pointing away from each other. Place this on top of the tan brick.

    • 17

Stack a 2-by-2 cone brick on top of a 2-by-2 round brick, both in yellow. Place the long yellow antenna on the top of this. Attach this piece to the pin on the back of the model.

    • 18

Place a 2-by-2 brick with two Technic side-holes on the middle of a 2-by-4-stud plate. Attach a 1-by-2 yellow brick with a single side-hole next to that. Cover these with an engine-shaped brick. The side of the engine should just cover the 2-hole brick. Place a 2-by-3-stud angled brick on the side of the engine, covering the 2-hole brick.

    • 19

Stack a gray 2-by-2 cone piece on top of a 2-by-2 round brick. Insert this into the front of the engine brick. Insert a Technic rod into the center of a yellow 2-by-2 round brick. Attach a yellow cone brick to the bottom of the 2-by-2 brick. The pins shouldn't mesh. Stick a yellow antenna rod on the top of the cone. Stick this into the back of the engine.

    • 20

Make a second engine unit, mirror image of the first. Attach these to the pins on the side of the model.

    • 21

Insert the Anakin Skywalker minifig into the cockpit. Attach R2D2's legs to his torso and insert him into the back of the model. Put the canopy over the cockpit.
