How to Create LEGO Space Ships

Legos are construction toys used to build structures and vehicles. Legos are measured by the number of raised dots found on the top surface of each Lego. "Flat" Legos are called base plates. Individual brick Legos are just that, bricks. A brick measuring two by four, does not refer to inches or millimeters, but to the number of width dots (two) and length dots (four). You can easily determine a specific-size Lego by counting the raised dots. To create simple saucer-type spaceships, use seven bricks and a square base plate. Accessories like antennas and color preferences make these spaceships unique.

Instructions

    • 1

Align the length sides of two 2 by 4 bricks. Press the bricks, side by side, onto the center of the top of the square base plate. The bricks will be framed on all sides by a row of raised dots from the base plate beneath.

    • 2

Press one 2 by 2 brick onto the center top of the two 2 by 4 bricks. This square brick will be framed on all sides by a row of raised dots from the rectangular bricks beneath. The spaceship resembles a stepped pyramid.

    • 3

Align the length sides of the remaining 2 by 4 bricks. Press the bricks, side by side, beneath the center of the bottom of the square base plate. The bricks below the base plate should correspond with the position of the bricks above the base plate. There are no raised dots beneath the base plate. The raised dots on the top of the bricks insert into the bottom of the base plate.

    • 4

Center one 1 by 2 brick along the outer side of the left rectangular brick beneath the base plate. Center the remaining 1 by 2 brick along the outer side of the right rectangular brick beneath the base plate. These are the landing gear for the spaceship. There will be a space between the two "landing gear" bricks equal to a 2 by 2 brick.

    • 5

Press an antenna onto the top 2 by 2 brick if desired.
