  Brainstorm ideas of what you would like to build. There are tons of online sources for ideas if you are having a hard time, but building an original piece is much more satisfying.

  Organize your pieces into categories. It can be difficult, when building, to find a specific piece your looking for when they are all mixed together. Organizing your pieces will cut down on your building time and make building experience more enjoyable.

  Start build the main components of your chosen design. Starting with the base will help you see your creation as it comes together, giving you the ability to change your design as you see fit.
