Things You'll Need
Instructions
Choose a wide, open area to display your kingdom in (i.e., a clear space you&'re free to set up any number of sets in without being required to move them often).
Place the milk crate or box in the focal point of the "kingdom." The center of the area is ideal, although if set into a corner or against the wall, place it against the walls. This will form a "hill" on which to place your castle.
Cover the box or crate with the card stock or fake grass to make the hill look like an actual hill.
Place the castle on top of the hill. Castles were traditionally built on hills, because it was a more defensible position and gave its occupants a tactical advantage against attackers.
Set up your other castle-themed sets around the castle according to your personal preference, albeit keeping logic in mind. For example, your knights will want to engage in training near the castle, as well as be on-hand to defend the castle against attackers. Outposts and prisons, on the other hand, should be further from the castle to expand the kingdom.
Add scenery, putting some trees and flowers around your castle to make it look more natural. This is primarily based on personal preference.
Place peasants and villagers around the castle. A kingdom needs farmers and farms in order to function. Build some small huts and houses out of spare bricks for the villagers to inhabit.
