How to Make a LEGO Surfboard With Normal Parts

Whether your LEGO people are going to hang ten in the pool or you want to see if your action figures would make it on the waves, you can build a LEGO surfboard to test the waters. LEGO surfboards can be built using standard LEGO parts found both in sets or purchased separately from a LEGO retailer. You can customize your surfboard with different colored LEGOs while keeping the basic structure the same. Just don't expect your LEGO people to survive for long in the open water without your help.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 plate, 2x12
  • 2 round corner plates, 3x3
  • 6 plates, 2x6
  • 1 tail, 4x1x3
  • 2 plates, 2x2

Instructions

    • 1

Place the 2x12 plate in front of you on a flat surface. Arrange the plate so it is perpendicular to your body.

    • 2

Attach the bottom right corner of one of the round corner plates to the top left connector dot on the 2x12 plate. The rounded part of the corner should face outward to the left.

    • 3

Attach the second round corner plate to the 2x12 plate so it is flush up against the first round corner plate with its rounded corner facing right. This will form the front of your surfboard.

    • 4

Place one 2x6 plate horizontally across the 2x12 plate so it is centered and up against the two round corner pieces.

    • 5

Continue placing the remaining 2x6 plates across the 2x12 plate. Work your way down the main plate. The final 2x6 plate will hang off the back. This is the main part of your surfboard.

    • 6

Attach the tail underneath the back 2x6 plate on the surfboard. The tail should protrude down and back, creating a tail similar to those seen on real surfboards.

    • 7

Place two 2x2 plates along the top of the surfboard to act as both foot holds for your surfer as well as extra support to keep the LEGOs in place.
