Bridges
Push the limits of your imagination and see how long a bridge you can build with Lego Technic parts. The rods and studs of the Lego Technic line can be used to construct a variety of bridge types, from truss bridges to simple arches. Throughout construction, test your bridge with a car or train to make sure it remains stable, especially if you're shooting for a length more than a few feet.
Vehicles
From cars to cranes to helicopters, Lego Technic pieces can be used to construct vehicles with working parts. A gear wheel added to a helicopter can turn the blade, and with a little work, a crane can be made to work using a control knob or a simple pulley system. With Lego Technic, you can even add suspension to that car you're building so it won't fall apart on rough terrain.
Power Functions
Turn your Lego Technic car into a remote-controlled all-terrain vehicle by adding a power function. Power function elements come included in some Lego Technic box sets. However, they can also be added to existing elements. Using a motor, battery and some sort of control, such as a control switch or RC handset, you can make a car go, control a bulldozer or bring another creation to life.
Mindstorms
Use your Lego parts in conjunction with Lego Mindstorms elements to create the robot of the future. A programmable set of Legos, Mindstorms features a microcomputer brick that can be used to do almost anything. Build a working robot, an interactive animal or a working machine, or enter one of the Lego company's many contests, like the one for robotic arms.
