Download the free program LDraw from the website LDraw.org. LDraw is a LEGO modeling program that allows you to model LEGO creations in three dimensions and see how pieces will fit together before actually performing any physical construction. Once you have downloaded this software, install it on your computer.
Open LDraw and look in the directory of brick shapes that are provided. Inventory the LEGO bricks that you have at your disposal, then find those bricks in the LDraw library. Use them to map out your LEGO man. By moving, adding and deleting bricks you can slowly form the shape of the LEGO man, change colors of the bricks and perform other actions.
Take the design you created in LDraw and see how many of each type of brick were used. Pull those bricks out of your collection and begin assembling the LEGO man according to the design you created in LDraw.
Refer to the LDraw design as needed as you build your LEGO man. If you encounter trouble during the building process, look at the LDraw design you created and compare it to the physical bricks you are assembling to see what the issue is.
