How to Make Magnetix Models

Magnetix kits were discontinued and a voluntary recall for the toys was put into effect in 2006 by the manufacturing company, Mega Brands Inc. These toys are considered a hazard for young children because the magnetic pieces can cause intestinal distress or death if they are swallowed. If you purchased a kit prior to the recall or found a Magnetix kit in a thrift store, you can easily create simple models with your Magnetix.

  Think of the model you are attempting to make as if it were made of many small triangles. A triangle is the easiest shape to make with Magnetix.

  Connect one ball bearing to each side of one of the magnetic rods.

  Join a magnetic rod to each of the ball bearings attached to the first rod. Place a ball bearing on the end of each of these rods.

  Join the two ball bearings at the end of each rod together with another magnetic rod. You have just created a triangle.
- 5
  Make several triangles and stack them together to create your model. You can move the rods around the manipulate the shape of the model as you work.
