Things You'll Need
Instructions
Select a location to build your tower. A steady, flat surface is best. Choose a location that is out of the way of traffic so the tower isn't likely to get bumped.
Sort your bricks by size to get a feel for how many levels your tower can have. Assume each brick size will be a separate level. The height of each level is depends on how many bricks you have.
Plan the color scheme of the tower. If you have quite a few bricks, each level will contain several rows of bricks so you might want to have a repeating color pattern. For example, the first row is always yellow for each level and then the next row is green and so on. This can be modified slightly as you actually build.
Design a base appropriate for the number of bricks you have. If you have many bricks and can build a tall tower, the base should be wider for more stability. Use the largest bricks such as 2-by-8 stud size.
Build the base by placing the bricks side-by-side to form a square or rectangle shape. Add a second layer going in the opposite direction and connecting the first layer together. Continue with several rows like this if you have enough bricks.
Add on levels using a smaller brick size every time you start a new level. Center each higher level in the middle of the previous level. Follow the color scheme from Step 2 as you add rows alternating the direction of the bricks for each row.
Place one 2-by-2 stud brick in the center of the top level. Stack several additional bricks the same size to this piece to the desired height.
