How to Make a Boy Finger Puppet

Finger puppets can help to fire a child's imagination. They can create whole worlds of fun for your child, and they are quite simple to make yourself. You will use an old glove for the body, and add clothing, a hat and a face to turn it into a boy finger puppet. Enjoy this craft with your children on a rainy day and watch complaints turn into cheers.

Things You'll Need

Flesh-colored glove
Scissors
Fabric glue
Felt
Fabric paint
Permanent marker

Instructions

  Cut a finger off a flesh-colored glove.

  Dip the cut end of the finger in fabric glue, then let it hang or sit open until the glue dries. This will prevent the cut end from fraying over time.

  Wrap all but the bottom inch of the finger with felt in the color that you want for the shirt.

  Glue the felt to the finger with fabric glue. Position the seam up the back of the puppet.

  Cut arms out of the same felt and glue them onto the puppet, just below the top edge of the shirt.

  Paint hair onto the puppet with fabric paint in the color of your choice. Allow the paint to dry.

  Paint a baseball cap onto the puppet's head with fabric paint, letting some of the hair poke out from behind it. Let the paint dry.

  Cut a brim for the baseball cap out of felt. Glue the edge of the felt to the bottom edge of the cap with fabric glue and allow it to dry.

  Draw a face onto the puppet with a permanent marker.
