Things You'll Need
Instructions
Wash the doll̵7;s hair with shampoo or soapy water and rinse.
Pop off the doll̵7;s head if it comes off easily. Otherwise, you will need to remove the doll̵7;s clothes to protect them from paint.
Coat the doll̵7;s face and neck with petroleum jelly. If the head is still connected to the body, coat the entire body with petroleum jelly as well. Wrap all coated areas with plastic wrap to prevent paint from staining the doll.
Mix acrylic paint and water in a large bowl until the mixture achieves the consistency of ink. The ratio will vary depending on whether you are using powdered or liquid acrylic paint.
Comb the colored water through the doll̵7;s hair in small sections, starting at the ends of the hair and working up to the roots. Continue combing the paint through until the hair is the desired shade. Wet hair will appear darker than dry hair.
Blow-dry the hair with hair dryer set on the low setting.
