How to French Braid Yarn Hair for Rag Dolls

French braids look intricate and complicated, but they're actually simple to create. French braiding a yarn doll's hair is going to be just like French braiding human hair, except that yarn will make the braid thicker. Impress your daughter by giving her yarn doll a new hairdo or teach her how to French braid by showing her on the doll.

Instructions

  Grab a section of hair at the top of the doll's head and separate it into three even sections.

  Hold the right section of hair with your right hand, the left section with your left hand, and the middle section between your thumb and index finger on either hand.

  Cross the right section of hair over the middle section and pull all the sections away from each other to tighten.

  Cross the left section of hair over the middle section and pull the sections tight again.

  Grab a section of hair on the right side of the dolls head and add this to the right section. Now cross over the middle section again.

  Grab a section of the hair on the left side of the doll's head and add this to the left section of hair. Cross over the middle section. Pull tight.

  Continue adding hair to both sides and braiding until you have run out of hair.

  Braid the remaining three strands of hair into a regular braid and secure with a thick hair tie or rubber band.
