Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the head from your Whimsie doll. If this proves difficult, undress it and hold its head under warm tap water to soften the plastic.
Cut the hair on the head as short as possible using the scissors.
Push the crochet hook (curved side first) up through the neck hole and scrape it along the inner surface of the head. The hook will catch onto the hair and pull it out. Use the tweezers to remove the hair from inside the head. You can also use a hemostat if you have one.
Thread a lump of hair through the needle. The clump should be just a little smaller than the hole in the doll's head.
Use one of two methods for threading the hair. In method one, you thread the needle through one hole on the outside of the head and then out the neck. Thread the needle back through the neck and out the hole next door. Take the hair off the needle and do the next piece. Each piece of hair is threaded in one hole and out another.
Secure the hair tightly for children who tend to pull the hair. In the second method, cut each clump of hair to the desired length and make a knot in the bottom. Thread the hair through the needle and thread the needle through the neck and out of the hole. Each clump of hair is knotted and threaded.
Apply glue to the inside of the head using a small paint brush. Allow the glue to dry.
Part the hair and hold it down with an elastic band. Dunk it in very hot water or place it in steam for a couple of seconds before styling and cutting as desired.
