How to Straighten Messy Doll Hair

Most doll hair is made of synthetic material, such as nylon, which means it can be treated with a wide variety of cleaning products and styled with heat. Synthetic material also easily tangles after children have been playing with it for a few months. A regular cleaning, brushing and upkeep routine will help keep the doll's hair organized, straightened and refreshed.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Spray an even layer of detangling spray on the doll's head. If there are messy tangles in the hair, it is best to start the restoration process by getting the large tangles out. Once you have sprayed the doll's head carefully, brush through each of the matted areas using a small comb.

    • 2

Wash the hair using a gentle shampoo. Rinse the shampoo out completely using warm water.

    • 3

Apply a pea-sized amount of conditioner onto the doll's hair. Comb through the hair a few times to ensure that all the strands will lay flat on the doll's head.

Rinse the conditioner out using warm water and brush the hair flat once more. Poke a few holes in a small baggy using a pair of scissors. Place the baggie over the doll's hair and let the hair dry out completely. The slow drying process will help keep the doll's hair flat and smooth.
