Mattel Miracle Baby Troubleshooting

Mattel's Miracle Baby is an animated baby doll that responds to your interaction. This lifelike baby doll features "Flex-Soft-Skin" and randomly blinks, coos, giggles, sneezes and hiccups just like a real baby. This doll also sucks her thumb, drinks her bottle and burps when you pat her on the back. If you are unable to turn on your doll or you develop other issues, troubleshoot before contacting customer service. The most common problems can be fixed on your own.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the batteries if your baby will not turn on, does not respond to you or stops working. Miracle Baby runs on three "C" batteries, and if they are drained, dirty, or not installed properly, they can cause issues. Remove the existing batteries and use a soft cloth to gently wipe the battery contacts. Replace the same batteries according to the polarity guide inside the compartment.

    • 2

Slide the "Power" switch to the "On" position. If your baby does not respond, insert three new "C" batteries according to the polarity guide. Use only alkaline batteries -- Miracle Baby may not function or perform properly with different types of batteries.

    • 3

Use the Miracle Baby bottle only. Do not use other toy bottles as this may damage the doll. Insert the baby's bottle or thumb into the mouth as far as it will go. Angle the bottle upwards so that the tip of it touches the roof of the mouth, activating the sucking motion. The sensor must be activated for the baby to make the sucking sounds and motion.

    • 4

Sit the baby upright and firmly pat her on the back several times if you can not get her to "burp." Try patting different areas on her back to activate the burping function. You can also manually activate the burping sound by pressing the "Burping" button on the middle of her back six times.
