How to Make Barbie Doll Suitcases

When Barbie travels to the city or to a luxurious resort, she needs a matched set of suitcases to complement her sophisticated wardrobe. A glamorous Louis Vuitton motif can be applied to the suitcases to make sure Barbie travels in style. Making the suitcases will teach some basic engineering and construction techniques, and Barbie gets attractive luggage in the bargain.

Things You'll Need

Small gift boxes with lids
Scissors
Duct tape
Brown spray paint
Two pencils with erasers
Craft knife
Beige stamp pad
Thin twine
White glue
Small round gold stickers

Instructions

  Remove the sides from the box lid. Attach the lid to one edge of the open box with the masking tape for a hinge. Make sure the lid can move up and down.

  Spray paint the box and lid. Let the paint dry; this takes about three hours.

  Carve an upraised "L" and a "V" from the erasers. Press the erasers into the stamp pad, and stamp alternating L's and V's all over the top, sides and bottom of the box.

  Cut one inch of twine for the suitcase handle and glue it to the top of the suitcase.

  Apply the stickers to the edges of the suitcase and the top closure.
