Things You'll Need
Instructions
Body Type 1
Undress the doll and remove the wig and head cap.
Remove the putty around the eyes inside the head cavity. The putty is reusable and can be stored in a small recloseable plastic bag. Remove the eyes and set them aside.
Use needle-nose pliers to pull up the "S" hook and rotate it 90 degrees. Slowly lower the "S" hook back down into the key hole slot at the base of the head cavity before releasing it from the pliers. A large, tightly strung doll may require one person to hold the doll while another person rotates the "S" hook.
Slide the head off the "S" hook. The head should slide off easily with little or no force.
Slide the "S" hook out of the elastic in the doll's neck. The elastic will snap back down into the body. The chest will separate from the hips if the doll's hands and feet are held on by "O" rings. If the doll's hands and feet are held on by "S" hooks, see Body Type 2.
Reach inside the chest with needle-nose pliers and pull out the knot of elastic. Untie the knot.
Stretch each shoulder away from the joint so you can reach the elastic and pull the end out. Do the same at the elbows and the wrists. Unthread the hand, arm, and chest pieces from the elastic.
Use needle-nose pliers to reach inside the hip cavity and pull out the knot of elastic. Untie the knot. Stretch one of the legs away from the body to get to the knot if it isn't accessible inside the hip cavity.
Unthread the elastic from the hips, legs and feet. The doll is disassembled.
Body Type 2
Follow steps 1 through 4 for Body Type 1.
Stretch one hand away from the arm and put a hemostatic clamp on the elastic.
Remove the hand and the "S" hook.
Remove the hemostatic clamp. The elastic will snap back into the arm, which will fall apart into three or four pieces.
Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each hand and foot.
Unthread the torso pieces from the elastic and untie the knots. The doll is disassembled.
