Creating the Basic Doll
Using fabric markers, draw on simple features for your doll's face: the eyes, nose and mouth. For maximum cuteness make the eyes very big and the mouth very small.
Using a black fabric marker, dramatically outline the eyes of your doll. Draw dark lashes and color in the lips of your doll according to taste.
Emo hair can be any color, so use yarn in any shade you want. Wrap yarn around the wide point of your hand until you have a thick bundle. Use scissors to cut through the bundle, leaving you with a large number of strands of equal length.
Folding over the yarn strands in the middle, use needle and thread to draw the bundle together in the middle and run the needle through the yarn bundle until the strands are secured together.
Attach the yarn bundle to the scalp of the doll body, using needle and thread or fabric glue. Using scissors, give your doll a shaggy haircut to represent the layering and feathering popular in Emo haircuts.
Decorating and Dressing Your Doll
Take the covered wire or twist tie and cut a piece that will wrap half way around your doll's head. Attach a large, matching button to each end to make a pair of headphones, so your Emo doll can listen to Emo music.
Create a private diary for your Emo doll by filling a small notebook with emotional thoughts and poetry or passionate drawings. Use your smallest handwriting to match the size of your doll.
Dress your doll in clothing that is a mix of cute and dramatic. Emo looks may feature a mix of child-like cartoon characters, clothing borrowed from goth or punk or pieces chosen because your doll thought they best reflected her mood.
Using fabric glue, small metal beads, decorative gemstones and ribbon, customize your doll by creating piercings or decorating the hair of your doll.
