Things You'll Need
Instructions
Spray an anti-tangle spray throughout the doll's hair. Spray just enough for the hair to be slightly damp but not soaking. You can find anti-tangle sprays in drug stores, beauty supply stores or department stores, such as Target, Walmart or Kmart.
Pick through the hair, very gently, using a doll comb. You can use a regular wire comb or pick if you do not have a doll comb. Try to remove as many mats and tangles, with the comb, as you can.
Apply a nickle-sized drop of shampoo onto the hair. Comb the shampoo through the hair. Do not massage the shampoo through the hair, as you would your own; doing so can cause more mats.
Place a small, plastic sandwich bag over the doll hair. Tie a rubber band over the opening of the plastic bag, around the doll's neck to secure the bag.
Poke 10 to 15 holes in the plastic bag, using the needle. This will allow the hair to breathe as it dries under the bag. Be careful to not poke the doll's head.
Put the doll aside until the hair has completely dried. Remove the bag and comb out the hair. Carefully rinse the shampoo from the untangled hair.
Apply a nickle-sized drop of hair conditioner onto the doll's hair, if the hair still has tangles. Comb the conditioner through the hair, using a doll comb. Rinse the conditioner out of the hair using cool water and allow the hair to air dry.
