How to Cut a Bratz Doll's Hair

Cutting a doll's hair requires some concentration but is quite simple to do. In order to have your Bratz doll's haircut as perfect as can be, there are some prior steps you need to take. The steps take time but are not very hard. Think of it as prepping your Bratz doll's hair. Doll hair is not the same as human hair and does not react the same when cut. This process of prepping and cutting hair can be done for all types of doll's hair.

Instructions

  1. Prepping Hair

    • 1

Use the wig brush to brush out any tangles before you wash it.

    • 2

Soak your doll's hair in hot soapy water for an hour. This removes the shellac that gives your doll's hair its shine. You need to remove it since it makes the hair stiff and hard to cut. Rinse the hair thoroughly and brush it out while it's still wet. You may need to repeat the process if you notice there is still some shellac on the hair.

    • 3

Spray in some detangler and remove any knots from your doll's hair. If you notice a lot of hair coming out, do not be alarmed, you will still have plenty of hair that will cover the doll's hair.

    Cutting Hair

    • 4

Decide where on the back you want the hair to fall for your doll.

    • 5

Pull your doll's hair into a tight high ponytail and secure it with a clip. Sit your doll up and keep her head even and upright.

    • 6

Use the tail end of your tail comb and pull out a thin section from the base of the neck from the ponytail. Spray it with some water and comb it straight. Hold the hair between your index and middle finger, starting from the base of the head and pull down to where you wish the length to be. Make sure that your fingers are parallel to the floor to ensure that it's straight. Cut the hair above your fingers. Continue to pull thin sections out to ensure straight and even hair.
