Sunshine Family Dolls & Crafts

In 1974, Mattel introduced a new family to the market, the Sunshine Family. The original Sunshine Family had three family members, but in later years added a fourth member. One accessory for purchase was the Sunshine Family Craft Store. The store features different pieces for use with the Sunshine Family dolls.

  1. Dolls

    • The original family featured Steffie, the mom, their dad, Steve, and baby, Sweets. Mattel later added the Sunshine Family grandparents to the collection. Finally, in 1978, baby Sweets grew up and her little brother replaced her as the family's smallest member.

    Craft Store

    • The Sunshine Family Craft Store debuted in 1975. The kit included walls and floors so owners could construct the shop. The store came with a spinning wheel and a table and chair for imaginary crafting. The craft store resembled a log cabin with a yellow door and the interior walls were painted to display merchandise.
