Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the shellac coating on your doll's hair by soaking it in hot soapy water for an hour. Scrub the hair against itself, rinse thoroughly, and brush while it is still wet. Repeat the process until all the shellac has been removed.
Spray in a small amount of leave-in de-tangler and brush your doll's hair until it is tangle-free.
Hold your doll upside down in a pot of boiling water. Make sure not to have her hair touch the sides or bottom of the hot pot. This will straighten her hair and make it easier for you to cut. Make sure her hair is cool enough to handle before you cut it.
Comb out vertical sections of hair from the head in a uniform angle and cut the hair perpendicular to the floor. Do not go in different angles, choose one angle and stay with it. For a short layered look, hold the doll upside down and cut all the hair parallel to the floor.
