Things You'll Need
Instructions
Measure the storage space you have available for your child's Barbie stuff. Use the available space in the corner of a room or the floor in a closet. Purchase a large, clear plastic tub with a hinged lid that will fit the space. Purchase a dozen smaller, clear plastic boxes in various sizes that stack neatly inside the larger tub.
Set up your craft table or play table with tape, child's art supplies, and the label maker. Lay all the Barbie items on the table. Invite your child to the table to help sort and organize her Barbie stuff. This is an opportunity to teach her sorting skills.
Sort the Barbie items by type. Make a separate pile for dresses, skirts, blouses, coats, hats and shoes. Ask your child to choose one box for each type of clothing or accessory. Help her choose a size that's appropriate for each group. Use the smallest boxes for tiny shoes and jewelry.
Help the child create a label for each box using the labeler and art supplies. Let her draw a picture of the item or just the word if she wants. Put the labels on the boxes and cover the label with the clear packing tape. Place all of the items in their appropriate boxes. Stack all the boxes in the larger tub. Label the tub.
