How to Put Together a Polly Pocket Ice Rink

Polly Pocket was created by Chris Wiggs in 1983 for his daughter. He wanted a toy small enough to fit in her pocket. The first Polly Pocket was a home set in a powder compact. The product was licensed by Bluebird Toys of Swindon, England, and appeared in stores in 1989. Since then the Polly Pocket brand has developed homes, zoos, amusement parks, ice rinks and other play lands.

Instructions

    • 1

Check that all the pieces for the Polly Pocket Ice Rink are there. This includes the skating rink, backboard, snack station, snack station banner, DJ booth, two chairs, snack cart and two dolls with magnetic bases.

    • 2

Pull out the bottom teal base from under the ice rink. Push the snack cart tip on the bottom of the cart into the hole near the top right next to the snack bar. Push the two red chairs into the hole near the shoes close to the base. Attach the snack station banner over the top of the snack station with the attached cashier doll.

    • 3

Place Polly Pocket and friend doll on the ice rink. Move the yellow lever back and forth to move dolls around on the ice rink. The rink has a magnet bar underneath that moves with the lever and pushes the dolls with their own magnetic bases.

    • 4

Remove pieces when finished playing. Place all of items in a plastic bag and keep near the ice skating rink.
