How to Wash Your Barbie Doll's Hair

When played with frequently, especially outdoors, a Barbie doll's hair can become dirty just like our hair. Washing the hair is an important part of Barbie doll maintenance. A well taken care of Barbie will bring playtime enjoyment for years to come. Allow your child to be part of the hair-washing process so the process can be incorporated into future Barbie playtime.

Instructions

    • 1

Comb the hair with a wide-toothed comb to loosen and remove dirt and debris. Start at the ends of the hair and work your way up to loosen tangles without pulling the hair.

    • 2

Rinse the Barbie under lukewarm water, wetting only the hair. Pour two to three drops of baby shampoo on your fingers and rub together to create shampoo suds. Rub the shampoo into the Barbie's hair from the scalp down to the ends.

    • 3

Run lukewarm water over Barbie's hair until all shampoo is removed. Blot the excess water from the Barbie's hair while holding the doll upside down over the sink so the water can't drip down over the doll's body.

    • 4

Squeeze two to three drops hair conditioner onto your fingers. Smooth the conditioner onto the Barbie doll's hair. Allow it to sit for two to three minutes then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

    • 5

Dry Barbie's hair with a towel, then place Barbie in a doll stand until the hair is completely dry.

    • 6

Apply a drop or two of leave-in conditioner to Barbie's hair and comb it through to prevent future tangles and keep the hair soft. Smooth one drop of shine serum over the hair to add luster and shine.
