How to Make Patterns for Doll Shoes

Trace the doll's foot on a piece of paper. This ensures that the doll's shoes will fit the doll and that the pattern will be an appropriate size. Use the measuring tape to determine the area around the doll's foot to avoid having too little fabric.

Add a second line approximately 1/2 to 1 inch around the original line. This is the extra fabric needed for sewing the shoes together.

Draw the upper part of the shoe as desired. Most doll shoe patterns are simple, such as a knitted baby bootie, so keep the upper part simple. Draw the pattern with a dark colored pen on the paper. Add the tracing paper to the top of the original paper and then trace the pattern with a pencil. The pattern can then be cut out and used to make the doll shoes.
