Things You'll Need
Instructions
Catwoman's Bodysuit
Remove all clothing from your doll and lay the doll on a sheet of paper. Trace around the doll's body, close to the doll. Do not trace the head or feet. Instead, end the tracing at the top of the neck and at the ankles.
Draw your outline again, 1/4 inch away from the original doll outline. This extra space will be used for seam allowances. Cut along the outside lines. This will be your front body pattern.
Pin the front body pattern to your stretch fabric. Cut around the outside of the pattern, so that you have one front body fabric piece.
Fold the front body pattern in half lengthwise and pin it to a double layer of your stretch fabric. Cut around the pattern edges, adding an extra 1/4 inch to the folded edge. These two pieces will be your back body pieces.
Pin the bottom 2 inches of the back body pieces together along the center back edges. Sew them together 1/4 inch away.
Sandwich the back body piece and the front body piece together, matching all edges. Pin the edges together and sew 1/4 inch away, leaving only the neck, hand and foot openings alone. Turn the body right side out.
Fold the neck, hand and foot openings under 1/4 inch. Hand-stitch along the folded edges.
Fold the remaining open back edges under 1/4 inch. Pin the zipper tape of a doll zipper to each edge and sew them down. You can also use Velcro instead of a zipper.
Catwoman's Mask
Lay your doll on a sheet of paper. Trace around the doll's head, then remove the doll.
Draw a horizontal line across the head drawing, at nose level. Erase the bottom portion of the drawing below this line. Add cat ears to the top of the drawing.
Outline the head drawing, making your lines 3/4 inch away from the original lines on all sides except the bottom. This extra space will be for ease and seam allowances. Cut along the outside lines.
Pin the head drawing to a piece of black felt and cut two pieces from the felt. Pin the felt pieces together on the outside edges, then sew 1/4 inch away. Leave only the bottom edge open.
Turn the mask right side out and place it onto your doll's head to check the fit. Locate the doll's eyes under the felt mask and cut triangular eye holes.
Catwoman's Boots
Put a plain pair of shoes on your doll. Place your doll on a sheet of paper and turn the leg sideways. Trace the leg and foot up to the knee.
Add 1/4 inch to the sides of the leg drawing, then cut the leg from the paper. This will be your boot cover pattern.
Pin the boot cover pattern to your black felt fabric. Cut four pieces and group them into pairs.
Sew each pair of boot pieces together along the front edge, 1/4 inch away. Turn the back edges under 1/4 inch.
Add a zipper or Velcro to the back edges of the boot covers as you did for the bodysuit.
