Building a doll house with bay window
Plan the exact dimensions of the doll house, including the three-part bay window design (which must be cut separately from the main walls of the doll house), so that all wood cuts can be made at the outset. Make sure you mark each piece so you do not mixed them up.
Cut windows and door ways in the appropriate walls of the doll house with a jigsaw. For the front wall where the bay window will go, cut a recess that corresponds exactly to the bay window dimensions.
Paint each of the pieces before assembling. It is much easier to do the fine detailed paint work at this point, instead of trying to reach through tight nooks and corners after the doll house is already put together.
Glue the corners of the main walls one at a time, keeping firm pressure on each joint until it is completely bonded. At the end of this, the entire main structure (excluding the bay window and roof section) should be completely and solidly assembled.
Place a small ply board platform at the edge of the bay window recess that extends out as far as the bay window area will go. This is the flooring section; the exact dimensions will depend on how large you want the area to be.
Cut window openings in a piece of construction paper, fold this paper into distinct thirds and glue it to the inside sill of the bay window opening. This will create the window aspect of the bay window.
Install a metal eye at the top of the rear wall and a metal hook on the roof section. This hook and eye will secure the roof once it is set on top of the doll house.
