Instructions
Under running water, soften the plastic and remove a leg by twisting it off.
Gently pop off the head, trying not to ruin the washer that is inside. Remove the washer from inside the head.
Look through the leg opening to the inside of the body, and find the bell cap, washer and either a cotter pin or wing nut. This assemblage is used to hold the bottom of the doll to the torso part of the doll. Using the K clamp, grab the washer and pull it out through the leg opening. Next snip the rubberband and remove the rest of the parts.
Lay all of the parts out on a table in the order in which they came out of the doll. Parts you will identify in order of appearance are the securing nut of some sort, metal disk washer, plastic bell cap, plastic tube and washer from the head.
Thread the elastic cord through the loop just behind the washer and make an overhand knot to secure the cord on the metal loop. Push the cord up through the plastic tube and back out of the doll body through the neck hole.
Place both the top and bottom body pieces together and thread all of the internal parts back in through the leg. Continue to pull the cord up through the neck opening so the entire string of internal pieces pull into alignment.
Use the first K clamp to grab the elastic cord that is temporarily tied in place and pull the cord to the outside through the leg opening. Pull more of the cord through the neck using the second clamp. Thread the loose end of the cord into one of the holes in the neck washer, then into the second hole in the neck washer. Still maintaining tension on the cord, push the loose cord end back down through the neck hole. Now you can remove the K clamp and use it to reach in and grab the end of the cord and pull the cord the back through the neck hole and through the tube and out to the loop behind the washer, to your starting point.. Pull and adjust tension and length to keep everything snug.
Re-attach the doll head by sliding the neck washer back in through the neck opening and pushing down on the body neck area.
Adjust the tension and make sure everything is tight and in place. Tie a double butchers knot or use a hog ring and hog ring pliers to crimp the elastic cord together. Heat the leg top under running water again and twist back into place. Your doll is now restrung.
Check the washer, bell shaped plug and nut to make sure they are not ruined, rusted or broken. If they are in good condition,
