How to Clean a Doll Wig

Dolls have very unique hair that can become dirty in time if the doll is not in a case. Whether it was an accidental spill on your doll or just built-up dust and dirt, you will want to clean the wig so it looks its best. Some dolls can cost thousands of dollars, so you want to clean the hair with the most professional techniques. With a few supplies, you can clean your doll wig safely and easily.

Things You'll Need

Water
Window cleaner
Towel
Brush
Vinyl protectant spray
Children's hair detangler spray
Nylon stocking

Instructions

  Clean the hair with warm water and window cleaner. Fill your sink with warm water, spray several squirts of window cleaner on the hair and wash the wig in the sink.

  Rinse the wig with warm water from the tap and dab the hair dry with a towel.

  Spray children's hair detangler on the wig and comb through it with a brush.

  Spray vinyl protectant spray on the hair to remove and prevent brittleness.

  Allow the wig to dry for an hour.

  Pull the nylon stocking over the doll wig to flatten the frizzy hairs and leave it on for a day.
