Things You'll Need
Instructions
Choose the color of porcelain slip you would like to use for your doll. Porcelain slip comes in several flesh-toned colors, each of which is appropriate for a particular fashion era. For instance, antique white porcelain slip would be ideal for creating a Southern belle doll with milky white skin.
Determine the size you would like your doll to be and select the appropriate doll mold. A larger mold may require more than one tub of porcelain slip.
Pour the porcelain slip into the doll mold. Fill the mold completely with the slip.
Place the mold into a kiln and fire it for approximately eight hours but no longer to avoid burning or bursting the porcelain.
Remove the mold from the kiln and allow the porcelain to cool completely. Remove the cooled porcelain from the mold carefully to avoid cracking.
Sand any rough edges from the porcelain using ultra-fine sandpaper.
Paint the lips and cheeks of your doll appropriately with pink rose paint. Paint very lightly for a male doll, and paint more liberally for a female doll. Enhance the face of the doll further with apricot paint if you wish.
Slip the glass eyes into the eye sockets of the porcelain. You can purchase glass eyes in green, blue and brown.
Apply the false eyelashes above the eyes using Super Glue. Be careful not to drop glue onto the glass eyes.
Apply glue to the inside of the doll wig and carefully position the wig atop the head of the doll. Press the wig down onto the doll to glue it in place.
Clothe your doll in a dress, shirt and jeans or whatever you wish.
