Instructions

Thoroughly clean the doll's hair. There are places that sell a cleaner for doll's hair. If you don't want purchase or can't find any, then use Windex. It will work just fine. Use warm water to wet the doll's hair and then add the cleaner. Make sure to work it through to completely clean hair. Use warm water again to rinse it out. If you don't think it is clean enough, repeat the cleaning process. Use a towel to blot dry.

Condition the hair while it is still wet. Use children's de-tangler and a brush to work it through. Spray on a hefty amount of Son of a Gun on the hair and cover with plastic. Use a rubber band or a ponytail holder to keep the plastic in place. Keep on for a day or two. After the removal of the bag, let it completely dry. The plastic bag would have held in the moisture, so after a couple of days it still wouldn't be dry. After it is dry, rinse out with hot water.

Continue to straighten out the frizz. While wet, put the nylons on the doll's head. Let it set for a couple of days. This is perfect for flattening out the doll's hair.

Style as usual. There are several things you can do at this point. You can either roll it up for a curly style. Vintage metal rollers are perfect for tight curly styles. There is also a process called a boiling water perm that you can do on the hair. To do this, roll the hair in rollers and pour some boiling hot water over the hair. Let the hair drain in the sink for a few minutes and blot with a dry towel. After a few minutes, remove the rollers. Or, instead of using rollers, let the hair dry and curl with curling irons. If using the curling irons method, do not rinse off the Son of a Gun. This will help straighten out any frizziness.
