Understand that Amazing Amy and Amazing Ally are dolls made by Playmates Toys. These dolls are truly "amazing" because they have an internal computer that allows them to interact with the child playing with them.
Know that Amazing Amy was created first. She says more than 15,000 phrases and has a clock display on her visible heart that not only shows time, but also puts up icons that give information about such things as her health and diaper needs.
Realize that Amazing Ally is the newer doll and not only speaks, but moves her mouth, too.
Recognize that both dolls have an internal clock that prompts them to talk about and ask for a nap, food and bedtime at the appropriate times.
See that the dolls make wonderful playmates because they react to what the child does. The dolls have touch sensors all over their bodies and respond to having their teeth brushed, being hugged and other activities.
Notice that Amazing Ally comes with a Tea Party Pack and that additional packs can be purchased. Each contains clothing and the necessary microchips for the doll to respond appropriately to the type of play engaged in.
Know that Amazing Ally also remembers the child's birthday and holidays the child likes.
Consider the fact that the dolls can be turned off although they're programmed to run from morning till night. The dolls also have an automatic shutoff if they're not being played with.
Look for both dolls in local toy stores. They can also be purchased online or from the shopping list.
Expect to pay about $80 for Amazing Amy (unless you can find her marked down, which is very possible since she's the older model), $60 for Amazing Ally and $20 for additional packs.
