How to Make a Texture Mat for Toddlers

Toddlers are constantly learning about the world around them, including concepts about color and texture. A texture mat is one way to boost a child's understanding of these concepts. The mats can be made on an inexpensive poster board using common household materials, making it an affordable way for kids to learn about a variety of items and the way they feel when touched.

    • 3

Glue cotton balls to another of the six sections, ensuring the area is completely covered.

    • 4

Cut the carpet down to the size of one of the sections and glue it down to the poster board.
