VTech Touch Tablet Advanced Instructions

Initial Setup and Use

  Detach the screen from the keyboard by grasping the screen release knobs found on each side of the bottom front of the screen. Slide the knobs away from each other, using the arrows as a guide. Then pull the screen upwards to remove it from the keyboard. Reversing the process allows you to reattach the screen at any time.

  Install the batteries. Turn off the Vtech Touch Tablet and detach the screen if you have not already done so. Open the battery covers found on the bottom right and left corners of the screen. Remove the old batteries and install the new batteries, using new batteries to ensure adequate charge. The VTech Touch Tablet requires four ̶0;AA̶1; batteries for operation. Replace the battery compartment covers, and reattach the screen. Alternatively, you can connect the AC adapter to power the VTech Touch Tablet.

  Press the power button to turn on the Touch Tablet. Pressing the power button again shuts down the Touch Tablet.

  Select an activity from the list to open that application. The VTech Touch Tablet automatically cycles the available activities across the screen when you first turn it on. You can select the desired activity in any one of four ways. One way to select an activity is to wait for it to appear on the screen, then press the ̶0;Enter̶1; key. Another way includes using the cursor pad to browse the available activities, then pressing the ̶0;Enter̶1; key or the left cursor button to select the activity. A third way includes browsing the activities by using the touch pen to press the arrow found on the right side of the screen. Use the pen to select the desired activity. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard to enter the desired activity number, pressing the ̶0;Enter̶1; key to select.

  Select the desired activity level by pressing the ̶0;Level̶1; key. The VTech Touch Tablet provides three levels of difficulty, with level three providing the greatest challenge.

Computer Connection

  Install the Vtech Laptop PC Program software on your computer using the CD-ROM provided by the manufacturer. The setup program should start automatically when you insert the disk into your computer̵7;s CD-ROM drive. If not, click ̶0;Start,̶1; and ̶0;Computer,̶1; then browse to the icon representing your CD-ROM drive. Click ̶0;setup.exe̶1; to start the installation program. Follow the onscreen prompts to compete the installation.

  Connect the USB cable to the computer, and touch tablet, then open the VTech Laptop PC Program software on your computer.

  Upload files created on the VTech Touch Tablet to your computer using the onscreen icons within the individual applications on the Touch Tablet. To download the files back to the tablet, click the ̶0;Download̶1; icon on the bottom of the PC program window. If you modify any files on the computer, however, you cannot download these files back to the tablet.

  Click the ̶0;Delete̶1; icon found in the VTech Laptop PC Program software to delete any files you no longer need.

  Print files stored on the VTech Touch Tablet by using the ̶0;Print̶1; icon found within the individual Vtech activity applications.

  Close the VTech Laptop PC Program software, then eject the VTech Touch Tablet from your computer by clicking the ̶0;Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media̶1; button found in the Windows system tray. Then disconnect the VTech Touch Tablet from your computer.
