My Pal Scout
The My Pal Scout toy is a small, green plush dog that speaks to children, sings, and barks when you press on various decals located on its body. The original version of this toy had to be recalled in 2009 when decals were reported removable, and there were cases of children removing and eating the decals. These decals presented a hazard for choking. No fatalities were reported due to this product. The second run of this product was created with embroidered decals, not sticker decals, and are safe for children.

Fifty-four other reports were made about scratches and bruising as a result of the Learn-Around Playground. The toy was created for children ages 6-36 months old. The product played music and had a ball drop for children, which included the plastic tubing that caused the issue of children getting their arms stuck. LeapFrog created a tool kit consumers could request to fix the issue.
Leapster Explorer
The Leapster Explorer, which hooks up to your personal computer has had recognition issues. After hooking the Explorer up to the personal computer, many consumers received messages that the program was not recognized. LeapFrog provides several pieces of advice to fix this issue. One, is for consumers to make sure they have downloaded the LeapFrog Connect application. If batteries are not charged on the Leapster Explorer, a personal computer will not be able to read information from the device. The device must also be powered on. If the device is still not recognized by the computer, LeapFrog suggests restarting the Leapster Explorer.
