Download and Install the LeapFrog Connect Application
Connect to the Internet from your computer. Navigate to the Leapster2 Customer Support page.
Click the orange "Download Leapfrog Connect" button for your computer's operating system. Skip to section 2 if you have already downloaded and installed the LeapFrog Connect application.
Click "Run" in the next two prompts that ask if you want to run the file and the software. Once the LeapFrog Connect application has been successfully downloaded, you will see the Welcome screen.
Close any open programs that are running on your computer, as prompted.
Click "Next" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Completing the installation may take a few minutes; do not interrupt the download process. Once the installation process is complete, you will see the Installation Confirmation screen.
Click the "Continue" button to set up your Leapster2 handheld.
Set Up Your Leapster2
Click the LeapFrog Connect icon on your desktop if you are not automatically directed to the LeapFrog Connect home screen. You may also launch the LeapFrog Connect program from your program files.
Click the orange "Set Up Your Leapster2" button. Connect the USB cable to the handheld, then plug the opposite end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer. Turn the handheld "On" and follow the on-screen instructions. Skip to section 3 if you have already set up your Leapster2.
Create a LeapFrog Parent's account. You must create a Parent's account to download the starter game, access the LeapFrog Learning Path and collect any rewards your children have earned on their devices.
Enter your name, email address and year of birth. Choose a password and click the "Agree and Continue" button. Click "Sign In" and follow the prompts if you already have an account.
Create a personal LeapFrog Learning Path for the children who will be playing with the handheld. Click "Who plays with this" and enter your child's first name, month and year of birth, grade level and gender. Click "Save." Repeat this process for up to four players, then click "Finish." You will then be directed to the LeapFrog Connect home page.
Download the Starter Game
Connect the Leapster2 to the computer using the USB cable. Turn the handheld "On."
Click the player's name on the LeapFrog Connect home screen. You will be directed to the Leapster2 home page.
Click the "Games" tab on the left of the screen. Look over the four starter games and choose which game you want to download. You can choose only one starter game for your device, and you cannot change the selection once the download begins.
Click the "Download" button, then click "Yes" to confirm your selection and begin your download. Click "Continue" as prompted once the game has been downloaded to the handheld. You will return to the game page.
Click the "Eject" icon on your desktop to disconnect the Leapster2 from the computer safely. Remove the USB cable from the computer and the gaming device.
