Battery Issues
Check the batteries if the handheld will not turn on, does not respond or stops working. The Didj unit runs on four AA batteries, and if they are drained, dirty, or not installed properly, they can cause issues.
Locate the two battery compartments on the back of the unit. Insert the edge of a coin into the open slot on each door and press straight down. Slide the battery compartments out.
Remove the batteries from the each battery compartment and discard them. Use a soft eraser or cloth, and gently wipe the battery contacts.
Insert two, fresh AA batteries into each compartment according to the polarity diagram inside.
Replace the battery compartments into the unit. Make sure that both battery covers are securely attached.
Press the "On/Off" button to turn the unit "On."
Other Issues
Adjust the contrast controls on the Didj screen, and the brightness controls on the left side of the unit, if the handheld stops working in the middle of play.
Turn the unit off and then back on if the screen displays "Please Restore System." If the message remains, connect the handheld to a computer with Internet access. Open the LeapFrog Connect Application and follow the instructions to restore the system.
Reconnect the handheld to the computer if the screen is stuck on "Download in Progress." Make sure the USB cord is firmly attached to the computer and handheld to complete the download.
Navigate to leapfrog.com/didj to download the LeapFrog Connect Application, if you are having trouble installing the LeapFrog Connect CD.
Insert the end of a paper clip, or fine-tip pen, into the "Reset" pinhole on the bottom of the unit if the Didj freezes or locks up.
