Instructions
Loosen and remove the screws from the battery compartment's cover, located at the bottom of the main console, using a Phillips screwdriver. In the space provided, place four C alkaline batteries into the compartment. Make sure you insert the batteries correctly by following the polarity (+ / -) diagram in the compartment. Replace both the compartment cover and the screws.
Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the keyboard like you did in Step 1. Insert four AA batteries into the space provided, following the polarity diagram in the compartment. Replace the battery compartment.
Insert the provided video (yellow end) and audio (white end) cable from the main console into the television using the color-coded RCA ports. Turn on both the television and LeapFrog's ClickStart My First Computer toy. The ClickStart's Settings screen will turn on to set up the toy for the first time.
Select the "Add a Player" option to create a player profile. Enter the child's name in the space provided. Select a starting level for the child as well. For ages three and four, select "Level 1" which introduces keyboarding, mousing and core curriculum activities. For more challenging activities and academic games, select "Level 2," designed for ages four and above.
Select one of the four learning games included with the ClickStart. Using the mouse, hover over one of the icons labeled either ABC Tree, 1-2-3 Click, Inbox or Type Time. Once the red pointer is over the icon, click it with your mouse to start the activity. Follow the on-screen instructions to learn how to play each activity.
