Instructions

    • 1

Print out the wind turbine PDF template (see Resources) by right-clicking on the document and choosing "Print." Cut out all five shapes on the template, using your scissors.

    • 2

Hole-punch the four circles inside the shapes with the names "The Disks," "The Blades," and "The Shaft." Next, cut out the teardrop inside the shape with the name "The Shaft," using your scissors.

    • 3

Roll the shaft tightly with your hands. Ensure the tabs are on the outside. Use your sticky tape to secure the tabs to the shaft where the two black lines are present. As an alternative method, use your scissors to cut a slit into both black lines and place the tabs inside the slit to secure.

    • 4

Line up the plastic straw and ruler in a side-by-side fashion. Place a pen mark on the straw in the area that corresponds with the 2 1/2-inch mark on the ruler. Use your scissors to cut across the straw in one motion, using the pen mark as the guide. Discard the excess plastic straw piece. Place the 2 1/2-inch plastic straw into the hole on the shape with the name "The Shaft" inserting it through the back of the circle.

    • 5

Fold the center line on the the shape with the name "The Nacelle." Apply sticky tape to the tab where the black line is present. Thread "The Nacelle" over the 2 1/2-inch straw and slot into the teardrop hole on "The Shaft." Ensure that the straw protrudes from the circular hole on "The Shaft."

    • 6

Thread one disk onto the protruding straw. Next, thread "The Blades." Finally, thread the remaining disk.
