How Do I Use Our LeapPad?

Made by LeapFrog Enterprises, the LeapPad is an interactive educational toy that incorporates books and activities to develop skills in spelling, vocabulary and reading. Children interact with the books using a special pen that is attached to the main unit by a wire. Special signals in the books' pages combine with the cartridge, allowing words to be pronounced by the unit when touched with the pen. There are many different books to choose from in the LeapPad library, each with different learning activities for your child.

     Place your LeapPad book on the platform of the LeapPad.

     Locate the slot on the right-hand side of the LeapPad and insert the cartridge.

   • 3

     Press the "ON/OFF" button to turn on the unit.

   • 4

     Activate a page by pressing the "GO" circle with the LeapPad pen.

   • 5

     Press the pen to different words to have them read aloud.

   • 6

     Press the pen to different symbols on the page to activate the learning activities.

   • 7

     Press the "Off" button on the unit to quit playing with the LeapPad.
