A cascading bouquet flows downward like the name denotes. These attractive, whimsical arrangements can be made with a plethora of flower types, but none display the beauty of a cascade like romantic, red roses. Knowing how to make cascading rose bouquets for weddings gives you the opportunity to make bouquets for your own ceremony as well as for your loved ones. Using fresh or artificial flowers and foliage to make cascading bouquets serves as a pretty floral craft.

Instructions

    • 1

Select and bundle a dozen red, long-stemmed roses. Snip the bottom inch of the stems of the bundle to make them run flush together with a straight edge. Wrap the stem bundle from the bottom up to the peduncles of the blossom bundle with florists tape. This creates a simplistic red rose bouquet.

    • 2

Surround the simple rose bouquet with the 12 sprigs of baby's breath. This frames the red flowers with the tiny white puff-balls and wispy foliage. Secure the baby's breath to the wrapped stem bundle with a single rubber band in the center of the stems.

    • 3

Select approximately 1 pound or 36 feet of artificial or real foliage vine of any variety. English ivy is ideal for its lush, grandiose appearance. Cut the vine foliage into three equal lengths.

    • 4

Surround the baby's breath in a triangular formation with the foliage, which will hang up to 3 feet from the center of the bouquet. Secure in place with florists tape. Repeat with another three sections of vine if you want, but that's optional.

    • 5

Snip the blossoms of up to 12 more red roses, leaving only 2 inches of stem on each blossom. Use florists tape to tuck the blossoms into the hanging foliage and wrap them around the stems of the foliage. This creates a whimsical cascade of red blossoms throughout the vine foliage.

Cut a length of silk ribbon measuring up to 36 inches but no less than 24 inches. Tie it into a simple bow around the center of the bundled stems of your bouquet. The tendrils of ribbon will hang with the foliage and blossoms for accent and texture.
