  Choose a tadpole from your local pet store after deciding the type of frog that is best for you. The frog should not grow to be any more than 3 inches in size.

  Locate a cool place to keep your frog farm that is out of sunlight. Be sure to hold the frog farm by the base when moving it.

  Remove the water cup insert and the tape on the cup. Fill half of the cup with bottled spring water kept at room temperature. Do not use tap water or other types of water that can be harmful to your tadpole.

  Prepare your tadpole for placement in his new home by floating the tadpole's unopened cup or bag in the frog farm water cup for 30 minutes. This allows the tadpole to adjust to the temperature of the water.
