The Wood Farm
Though more expensive, there is a variety of toys made of wood in the John Deere collection. Start off with the John Deere Big Wooden Barn. It's very large and sturdy, and John Deere offers a large selection of add-on pieces to build an entire farm set. Some of those add-ons are an eight-piece Wooden Fence, Machine Shed, Lean-to, trucks, tractors, trails, and a set of assorted animals. (See Reference 1.)
Non-wood Farm
The 8'' Tractor Deluxe Set is a great gift box for a young child. It comes with a tractor and bale mover, backhoe loader, and a 4WD tractor and ripper. The 8'' John Deere 8530 with forklift comes with two attachments for a variety of play.
