Determine your primary color scheme. Choose two colors that are commonly seen on farm equipment. Red and black or green and yellow are two popular color schemes for tractor-themed bedrooms.
Choose a neutral accent color. Your tractor themed bedroom will need a third color to soften the bright primary colors associated with tractors. Choose neutrals such as white or tan, or go a more trendy direction with shades of gray. According to the My Perfect Color website, gray looks great with bold colors and offers a calming effect, too.
Purchase bedding and accent pieces in the colors of your chosen color scheme. Be sure to purchase bedding staples such as a comforter, a sheet set, pillowcases, shams and a bed skirt. For accent pieces, consider a lamp with a toy tractor base, a round play rug in a bright color, and a red or green dresser scarf.
Paint the walls in your chosen neutral shade to offset the bright colors elsewhere in the room.
Paint images of tractors on the walls or apply tractor-themed wall decals. These add delightful visual interest for young people and give your bedroom a cheerful atmosphere.
Include a tractor, because every tractor-themed bedroom should have one. Purchase a kid-sized tractor (available from many farm equipment suppliers) and display it in a corner of the room.
Design a corner focal point. For example, a child would love pretending to drive a tractor in a bedroom corner decorated with a real tractor seat and steering wheel mounted on a wooden platform. Face it toward the corner, paint the walls to look like a tractor dashboard, and you're ready for fun.
