Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw animal shapes on the paper. Cut out and use as a pattern to cut flat animal shapes from the print fabric. Cut two pieces of each shape.
Stitch around the animal shapes with right sides together, leaving an opening. Clip the seams and turn right side out.
Stuff the shapes with cotton or polyester fiber fill. Do not use sawdust, seed or beads as these products might cause a problem if the toy developed a hole. Sew up the hole, using an over-hand stitch. Paint or embroider facial features.
Tie a piece of cord long enough to reach from a secure spot on the ceiling or other object above baby's sleeping space. It should be long enough to hang about 4 feet above the crib. Make a loop in the end of it.
Tie a cord, about 8 inches long, to the middle of one of the dowel rods. Tie the other end to a detached hook from a clothes hanger. Tie an 8-inch cord to the middle of each of the other dowel rods. Tie the free ends of the cords to the ends of the first dowel rod.
Sew a long string to the back of each animal shape. Tie one string with an animal attached to the end of the two dangling dowel rods, and one string with animal attached to the middle of the original dowel rod. Thread the hook through the loop in the string hung from the ceiling.
