How to Make a Kazoo Out of Combs & Paper

Enjoy your morning grooming, write a letter and hum out a tune on a kazoo with the coif and write leftovers. Sounds crazy, but a paper-comb kazoo is an easy way to make annoying noises. This crafty instrument lets kids make noise to their hearts' content. With a comb and some scrap paper of different types, get on your way to humming "Yankee Doodle" via kazoo.

Instructions

    • 1

Rip or cut out a piece of paper just shorter than the length of the comb but two times the height of the comb.

    • 2

Fold the paper in half. Slide the folded side of the paper over the comb's teeth.

    • 3

Put your lips up onto the paper and hum. The vibrations from the paper transfer to the comb and give out the kazoo buzz and hum.

    • 4

Experiment with wax, tissue, wrapping or other paper types to get different noises and tones.
