Things You'll Need
Instructions
Pry the large orange cocking bolt off the rifle with the flathead screwdriver or chisel. Apply enough force to loosen the bolt, but be careful not to damage the plastic.
Remove the screws that hold the plastic body together. Place the screws in the cup to avoid accidental losses.
Place the gun on the ground with the left side up. Pull off the top half of the gun, keeping it flat so the components inside stay in place.
Remove the orange bolt sled. This is the part of the gun that controls airflow. It is a long cylinder with a spring attached to its end.
Drill a hole through the plastic barrier at one end of the bolt sled cylinder. This barrier is the air restrictor; when you drill a hole in it, air will no longer be dispersed to limit force.
Replace the spring on the sled with a stronger spring. A spring from the inside of a toilet paper holder is the perfect size for Nerf modifications, although you may need to clip it shorter with the wire cutters.
Reassemble the gun but do not secure the screws. Take a test shot. If the gun works correctly, lock the screws into place and pop the cocking bolt back on.
