How to Improve Your Night Finder

The Nerf Night Finder is a pistol-sized Nerf gun that features a laser targeting device for increased accuracy. The Night Finder is part of Nerf's "N-Strike" series of toy guns, which fire harmless foam darts but are modeled to appear more realistic than earlier Nerf guns. The Night Finder has a dart holder on the bottom of the gun that can be used to hold two extra darts, but with a little modification you can improve your Night Finder so that it holds six extra darts.

Things You'll Need

Phillips-head screwdriver
Hot glue gun
Scissors

Instructions

  Lay the Night Finder on a flat surface, such as a table, with the end of the barrel pointing to your right.

  Remove all the screws on the outer surfaces of the gun so that it opens up. Keep track of the screws and put the top half of the gun aside.

  Remove the two dart holder components from their housing on the underside of the laser.

  Pull the two dart holder components apart so that you have one thick piece and one thin piece for each component.

  Locate the small tabs that extend from the side edges of the two thin pieces. Cut off the tabs with the scissors.

  Snap the two thin pieces together and place them back into the extra dart housing in the slot closer to the end of the gun barrel.

  Reattach the top half of the gun and replace all the screws.

  Place a thin strip of hot glue on the flat side of one of the thicker pieces from the original dart holder. Attach the flat side of the piece to the side of the laser pointer. Allow the glue to set for two to four hours to ensure that it has a good bond.

  Glue the remaining thick piece to the opposite side of the gun using the same method.

  Slide two darts through the holder on the bottom of the gun and two darts through each of the holders on the side. you now have six extra darts on the gun in addition to the dart in the chamber.
