How to Loosen a Yo-Yo String

The yo-yo provides hours of enjoyment for any age group. This is especially true if the yo-yo is maintained properly. A poorly maintained yo-yo will not function well and will not perform tricks as well it could. The string typically requires more maintenance than the rest of the toy. It needs to tightened or loosened, based on your tension requirements. A dirty string should be replaced as quickly as possible.

     Hold one end of the string and drop the yo-yo. Do not allow it to return.

     Spin the yo-yo counterclockwise and wait for it to stop spinning.

     Wind the yo-yo up and test it. If it still feels too loose, repeat the process as needed.
